Hire A Lightweight School Minibus Which Requires No D1

1 minute read time

Want to hire or buy a minibus for your school but don’t have a D1 licence?

No problem. GM School Minibus have vehicles that don’t require the use of a D1 licence. Our range includes the Minibus Lite which is the UK’s original and bestselling vehicle for schools and colleges.

Not only is achieving a D1 licence expensive, many people have to take more than one test, which makes it even more extortionate. Fortunately, anyone with a normal licence can drive a minibus with up to 12 seats.

Furthermore, if you passed your test and got your driving licence before 1 January 1997, you are likely to have a Category D1 licence which allows you to drive a minibus with up to 16 passenger seats, although not those for hire or reward.

Having a vehicle that can be driven safely by any member of staff with a normal driving licence for a car is a huge advantage.

We also have up to 9 seater minibuses which require no D1 licence, or 17 seater minibuses which do need this type of licence.

If you’re looking for a school minibus that doesn’t need a D1 licence, find out more about our latest vehicles. Or don’t hesitate to contact us today.
